Goodbye 2011

This year we had a carol service breakup. This was where we did Kapa Haka, choir, and other things. I sung the Maori words for silent night. I felt nervous because there were a lot of people there watching me. Once I has finished singing I felt surprised because it was finished and I did really well.
This year each Thursday in the afternoon I went to Kapa Haka. We learnt some moves and songs. My favourite part was poi because we learnt some moves with our poi.
I had a great year in 2011.

Maths

Teacher

I like teachers because you can lean something new from them teaching like writing, reading, topic, handwriting and also technology exesserly Miss Joyes and Mrs Natusch. Miss Joyes reads us a story call James and the Giant peach and she calls the morning roll and the afternoon roll and while Mrs Natusch is doing work and then they swop over so they can have turns each.

Computers

I like playing on computers because you can go on your blogs and you can also play on games and write a commet on someones blog when you watch a video of them doing something like their drama plays and their maths video.And also watch their day at wheels day.

What I can do really well is speak well.

I need to work on using more expression and do eye contact.

Healthy drinks

This week in room7 a girl named Millie that comes from project energize came to talk to us about healthy drinks and unhealthy drinks. She put eight drinks in the middle of our circle. The eight drinks were powerade, water, milk, flavoured water,E2, coke cola can and v can, ribena and calcium yum.

Perseverance

This term our big idea is perseverance.

Perseverance means you keep on trying even when you have hurt yourself or when it is hard.

I've persevered by getting used to kapa haka.

But now I am used to kapa haka because I have learnt the actions.

Reflection on term 2

I enjoyed doing maths and writing. I liked doing this term is doing fractions with miss stevens and cutting the flax with miss Anderson and I liked doing basetball with mrs Williamson.

Maths - telling the time

I can read time to the hour and half hour.

My goal is to read time to the nearest 5 minutes.

basketball

In room7 we did basketball for winter sports last week.
I learnt that we wasn't allowed to double dribble.

It was a little hard because the other team was winning.

Dribble the ball was the easiest thing to do for me.

I like doing basketball because its easy.

soccer

For winter sport we learnt how to play soccer.

I learnt how to kick the ball properly.

The things I found hardest was dribbling the ball.

I liked playing soccer because it is fun.

Beam bridge

This is a photo of me and Victoria sharing our speech to the juniors. We made a beam bridge. We made it out of plastic cups, cellotape and cardborad. It was hard becasue the cellotape wouldn't stick.

Next time I will make it stronger.

One of the famous arch bridges is the Sydney harbour bridge.

We made solar oven with pizza boxes and black paper and tinfoil and newspaper .

I am learning to recall my doubles quickly.
6+6=12
4+4=8
5+5=10
7+7=14
8+8=16
9+9=18
10+10=20
5+6=11[5+5=10+1]
6+7=13[6+6=12+1)
7+8=15

I solved these problems using my doubles.
